PHT Project

280kW MA

Year: 2011
Running Gear: Two propeller turbines, gearboxes, and 1800 RPM synchronous generators. Total installed capacity of 280 kW.
Scope: Replacement of controls

This owner/operator small hydro project is located at a beautifully restored historic mill site. After years of restoration efforts, the owner selected PHT to replace controls installed in 2003 that failed to meet requirements. Notable features of the project include use of siphon intakes, as well as capability of on-grid and off-grid operation. Today, power generated from the two unit plant is both exported for sale, and used to power the onsite converted mill building, which now houses various commercial operations. The powerhouse also has the distinction of being the most beautiful powerhouse PHT has ever had the pleasure to visit.
